Our Story

Skylar and Borg met in their freshman year of college at the University of Denver. They quickly bonded over their shared love of Star Wars, nerdcore music, and video games. What started as a friendship soon grew into a deep and meaningful relationship built on laughter, support, and shared values.

Borg proposed to Skylar in July of 2024 at Nerdcore Party Convention. Surrounded by Skylar's favorite band and longtime friends, Rockit Music, as well as other friends in the nerdcore community, the moment was deeply personal and unforgettable.

What is the dress code?

We kindly request cocktail attire for our celebration. Please refrain from wearing white, cream, ivory, or similar shades, as these colors are reserved for the bride and groom.

How do I get to the venue?

Our wedding will take place at County Line Orchard in Hobart, Indiana. For the most accurate and up-to-date directions, please refer to the venue's website.

When should I get there?

Our ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM. We kindly ask that guests arrive by 4:00 PM to allow time for parking and arrival at the ceremony location.

What should I know about the venue?

Our ceremony and reception will both take place inside the barn. Ample on-site parking is available, and multiple restrooms are located on site. The main floor of the barn, including the restrooms, is wheelchair accessible.

Where should I stay?

We are currently looking into reserving a hotel block near the venue. As soon as we have more information, we will update this section. Thank you for being patient!

Can I bring a plus-one?

To keep our celebration intimate, attendance is limited to the guests listed on each invitation, including any plus-one noted. Thank you for your understanding.

Are children welcome?

While we love your little ones, we kindly request that our celebration be limited to guests aged 13 and older. We hope you can still join us and enjoy a night out!

What will be served for food and drinks?

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We will be having an unplugged ceremony, so we kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras put away and be fully present with us during this time. Our photographer and videographer will capture every moment for you to enjoy later. The reception will not be unplugged, so you're more than welcome to take photos and videos then!

Is there a wedding registry?

Instead of a wedding registry, we plan to have a honeymoon fund. This section will be updated to include a link to it as soon as we have more information. We appreciate your support!

Alice McConnell

Skylar and Alice have been best friends since 2016. They met in Paris, France at Musée d'Orsay, where they quickly became friends over their love of Minecraft and music. Even though they live in different countries, they have remained incredibly close over the years and share a sister-like bond. Skylar couldn't imagine having anyone else as her Maid of Honor on her wedding day.

Best Woman

Tenia Dres

Borg and Tenia first met in 2017 and have continued to become closer friends ever since. They had a lot of the same classes throughout middle school and high school, and quickly bonded over their shared interests and similar senses of humor. As the person that Borg considers to be closest to a sister, he figured that Tenia would make an amazing Best Woman.
